Summer: A Final Look at the Cast

When it comes to the character of Summer, there was never a second person in mind. Kelly Nichols was the person right from the get-go that we wanted to play Summer and span the chasm between someone so lovable, innocent, and ready for love, but also on the verge of being off-center. Her approach to the character brought many joyous moments, and her turn (spoiler) after Kat decided to break it off was played perfectly.

On top of Kelly’s top-notch acting, she is also a wonderful stage designer. This can be seen in her video settings every time she’s on camera. Her attention to detail, her focus on what you, as the audience, see, and her ability to set dress so you feel right at home. This aspect played well against the mostly video call style videos from the rest of the cast and overall was perfect with the character of Summer as always just a bit too much.

I’d Kill For a Date was written, produced, and acted by people who love the theatre. However, we are community theatre actors who have your proverbial day-jobs. During this time, life is busy for many of us, and for Kelly, it’s no different. We hope you enjoy this look at Kelly and the following video which shares some of our favorite scenes.
